  • Cosworth engine renderings.

This is pretty neat over on Motoiq:

Cosworth is one of the premier race engine design and manufacturing companies in the world. I've always wanted to use some of their parts, just beyond my means. At one point they basically ruled the open wheel engine choices in the world.

    The images are really cool.

    Wow!

The coolest part of my SVT Focus was the fact that the cylinder head came from Cosworth. Scott's messed around with a DFV I think.

I'd really dig having a DFV.

At one point I looked at putting a YBA head on a pinto 2.0 block. It would have been a pretty cool twin cam.

I tuned a DFV (stroker, of all things) with a Gen 7 DFI system.

Cam Timing was owning the builder, but even with that issue, it laid down something like 600 N/A whp on a mustang dyno on gasoline.

later it made 1100 with a big single turbo on methanol! dual 160 lb/hr injectors per cylinder, on a tiny little engine. Very interesting stuff.

By far, it was the loudest, most intimidating engine I've ever heard - and that includes 2 and 3-rotor racing Mazdas, which make a Pro Mod chainsaw seem like a Cox .040

We ran it late in the afternoon. The ENTIRE industrial park in Ontario emptied, most people went home but the braver "car guys" gathered in the parking lot to see what was making such racket through open headers.

Spectre's HR lady sent people home early that day. I think someone actually pooped on the floor in the warehouse when we fired it up the first time. Seriously.

it is these renderings deeming another crystal useful (plugin vid card).
I remeber the argument as silly as bill gates "640k memory for everybody"
alot the same was said about vid cards swappable being useless. I sure fell for a decade of upgrading at least once a year...
I run ati myself just for my pathetic stuff.

the fire GL has been around for some time.
I have yet to see anything beyond a GB float on a 13.4 mhz..
I am still giglling at some of the workstations.. absolutely ridiculous. The computer is at a stand still if ayone hasnot paid attention (they stopped gaining in 2005).. noe itis fantasy numbers like a FWD ricer to 600hp.

it all catches up, flushes the toilet called industry eventually.

I am glad they make some things. subaru would be done with the dainty five mains, and poor people boxers would be gone... if it were not for cosworth and fancy vids about the racing advertising big and powerful like the oem companies make it everyday for all their cars. they also bailed out the escorts...

I've always thought that an internally wasted DFV would make one bitchin' start to a glass topped coffee table.

Very cool link, the Aston V-12 was tasty, thanks Bob.
