  • I might do it again! '86 Buick with turbo

This just got dropped into my lap. It's an '86 T-type with the intercooler motor, cloned into a GN. Guy is extremely up-front about the positives and negatives of the car. Tight suspension, good steering. Bad paint, the bodyman sucked. Tach is dead, radio is dead. Motor is strong....not having driven a turbo car before, it feels right for the factory HP. 200-R4 has a shift kit. He wants $7800 for it, I'm thinking of offering $6200. Survey says.....?

After driving it without supervision (turbo works! ;D) I'm leaning towards yes when the inheritance check shows up at the end of the month. Clay has offered his garage as a storage place until I can come get it.

I had 3 of these, borrowed a fourth.. from 200k 305 (grand prix open grille FTW)
to 165 MPH monte carlo SS with custom 350ci (makes grand nationals pansier than really appear)

I have broken both tail ends of the frame, and twisted a t-top version from front left to rear right, and srpung the frame to the left of the steering box...

just being who I be. ???

        you want my opinion?

the egr killed the electronics, the car is poisoned.

there is a kink behind you in the photo, top right door jam...

the body man was good.. the body is bad.

look for signs of lightning strikes. :o

you could play restore games, strip it down, make the top end of engine run classic clean no recycle, and red oxide it to a million dollar cure... not for the asking price. never never.

Boxer3main, where? Possibly the reflection of the house? That door handle isn't perfectly set. I still need to fine-tooth comb the car, no doubt. After my '87 SS I know what to look for. I definetly want to put the car in the air, dash says 48,xxx mi. but I want to see the frame for myself.

Bamfster....I don't think I could sell the SS. The Ramcharger and the Chevelle, however....

What's not to love about that car? it's a not a true one, so you can modify without the geeks getting all bent out of shape... if it's a PNW car, it doesn't have frame rust problems - no salt on our roads - some point I'll have to take a picture of the underside of my IROC... you East coast guys will stop shopping for Calicars - we have rain, but not acid rain or salt (although that may change if we have another winter like the one we had a couple years ago).
