listen to the video to hear how much the owner paid for the car after filming was over!

Interview with Mike Famalette, owner of the '58 Chevy Impala driven by Toad in the 1973 classic film, American Graffiti. Check out my American Graffiti webs...

Kinda funny how he wasn't used to the three-speed and hit a fence when he first tried to drive it....I remember Toad leaving it in reverse at the red light and hitting the car behind him, lol

Movies cars are generally great big POS's. This was sold during the worst ever era for muscle cars.

I watched a trailer for it..

            "where were you in '62.."

the scene where the rear end gets ripped out of the cop car is the way I think of the design. ???

I would have been hell in 62.
I would be beating your hot rod with a beetle. :D
and if ya caught up, I'd do something crazy... like take a turn. :

62 is before military insanity... colleges meant something. I would not be me today if I had a 1962.

I'm interested in what you would have done to the stock 1200 cc engine (claimed 40 bhp) in 1962.
There were no Gene Berg Enterprises or such back then.
Also, have you ever tried to speed shift an un-synchronized tranny ?
              ???
