This one made me think. Y'all all know how destructive that can be.
Here's the text of a short email that got into my pile today. I'm raising no point other than statistics can be construed any way you want without CHANGING the statistics:
"A recent joint study conducted by the Department of Health and the Department of Motor Vehicles indicates that 23% of traffic accidents are alcohol related.
This means that the remaining 77% are caused by assholes who just drink coffee, carbonated drinks, juices, yogurts, and shit like that.
Therefore, beware of those who do not drink alcohol. They cause three times as many accidents. "
It's statistics, and that's all it is, and I wouldn't bet if the percentages are true or not, but that one doesn't matter for purposes of the subject.
But when you think about it...yeah.
If 1% of us have been released from a mental hospital with papers saying we're okay to function in society after all the treatment we got in the mental hospital, that means the other 99% of us are running around however we do, without the papers that say we ARE okay.
Statistics.
