I could have put this on what I did today, but....
so, my 16y/o daughter is in the colorguard at her high school. As part of that she competes with the band, so my wife and I go to 2 or 3 shows a year. Yesterday was Valleyfest in Des Moines, and there were 34 bands. if youve been to one of these, you know there are some kick ass marching bands out there!
there was a band yesterday, from a different town who has a Sax player that is, straight up, the freaking poo...
it is kinda a long video, but the kid plays like 3 or 4 solos, and is just awesome. T
He does have his horn mich'ed, but his/her tone is just awesome.
as for my daughters school, they have a new band director, and the whole drum line is new this year, so they are still ironing out the bugs!!
