the mounts are only $220 for the motor and trans.

the v8 doesnt add any weight and these cars weigh 3200lbs stock.

i think this is awesome, and id like to build one someday ;D

I like that swap. The six being the mainstream from the bmw thinkers has always made me wonder why.
my sister went and bought a a750 with a v8..and that was strange too. the 8 in the 750, belonged in the chassis one size smaller. this guys swap written is a sure win.

little square sedan, and an engine teeter tottering in straight six manners. compare it to an old maverick or fairmont, or even old mustang...

the 8 even balances better. I would do it just to sell the six to fund it. ;)

ive talked to a few people about this swap and they say you can usually sell the bmw drivetrain for more then the 5.0/t5 and the motor/trans mounts cost.

so it ends up being a free or profitable swap :D ;D

the 302 wouldn't leak oil all over the place like the bimm motor

they make kits for an e30 bmw too that has OBD1

and the OBD1 cars just have to pass a "sniffer" test, correct?

so just keep the stock smog equipment on the 5.0.

luckily, i dont have to worry about that because i live in the middle of nowhere ;D

LOL, I can never get that stupid cartridge filter to seal on mine...

But if I'm going to all that work, I'd rather have an LSx.

id rather have an LS too. but you could probably do the whole 5.0 swap for less than the price of the mounts for the LS

but you can get the whole truck for a few sacks of potatoes
the LS 5.3 will be a steal

i know you can build cheap LS motors, its the mounts/headers and other things necessary that cost a lot

that would be a cool stang

an LS powered stang would be cool, but probably wont be happening for awhile due to a lack of funds

i will take donations though ;D

You could probably buy a whole clapped out 5.0 Mustang for about the same and sell off the usable junk and have all those neat little parts that you need too.
