I've gotten this one twice this week. All I own is a pellet rifle that I used to use to shoot (at, and miss) turtles on the lake in South Carolina.....

A driver cruises thru a stop sign and gets pulled over by a local policeman. Guy hands the cop his driver's license, insurance verification, plus his concealed carry permit.

"Okay, Mr. Smith," the cop says, "I see your CCW permit. Are you carrying today?"

    "Yes, I am."

"OK, better tell me what you got."

Smith says, "Well, I got a .357 revolver in my inside coat pocket. There's a 9mm semi-auto in the glove box. And, I've got a .22 magnum derringer in my right boot."

"Okay," the cop says. "Anything else?"

"Yeah, back in the trunk, there's an AR15 and a shotgun. That's about it."

"Mr. Smith, are you on your way to or from a gun range?"

    "Nope."

"Well, then, what are you afraid of?"

    "Not a damn thing."

      Re: Concealed

      haha.

I know of some that go with concealed for no reasons of trouble.

I am not the gun type, unless in the woods.

Recently even in my own small town, some guys knocked on a door faked a car broken story, and tried to make their way into the house... the owner kicked butt, no gun.. but that is a time to surprise with a surprise. Right up the road from me... not cool.

I have traffic infractiins, 4 tickets all at once, many years ago.. is some kind of felon (absolutely ridiculous) and still don't even know about concealed. it is quite legal going about it correctly. It is tempting, if integrity verified.
used to bother me.. went ace with aiming at home, little guns, m16s military.. shame what traffic tickets may be holding back.

          Re: Concealed

Here in Texas it is very common.
I would have mine but my main "local" for wanting one is on my way to work.
I work on an USAF base and I am no way going to risk my job carrying on base.

              Re: Concealed

I have a CCW in Maine and NH. The reciprocity covers me in many states.

I believe in being prepared. I hope that I never, ever have to use a handgun against a person, but I'm not going to let someone else determine when I become worm food if I can help it.

90% of the time I carry a S&W Sigma 9mm. If I had it to do over again, I would probably go .40 for a little more stopping power without the added weight of .45. I have a 16 round magazine in the Sigma.

In the winter, when I can wear a bulkier jacket, sometimes I will carry my S&W 629 .44 Magnum. Obviously it doesn't have the ammo capacity, but my hope is that the sheer appearance of it would cause someone to submit and then I wouldn't even have to pull the trigger.

In Maine it wasn't too bad to get a CCW. I took the NRA basic safety course, which was three evenings. Then I had to get some passport photos taken, fill out a huge stack of paper work and send it in to the state police with $35. About 45 days later, my CCW arrived in the mail. After that, I sent a photocopy of my Maine permit and $20 to the New Hampshire state police and they issues me a non-resident CCW.

                  Re: Concealed

My Sigma is pretty accurate but a friend of mine bought one and you would be better off throwing it at someone that trying to shoot them with it. I've heard similar stories from other people. Not sure why they have so many issues.

I have to agree here, you get what you pay for which is why i am a sig man, unbeatable accuracy and durability, I own a P250 & a P238.

If you are gonna risk your life on a carry gun why not spend the cash and do it right????

Would you put a blower and nitrous on a cast piston engine???? I thought not...........

In the last election we pasted a law that allows Everyone to carry a Concealed weapon and get this With Out a Permit. :o

Hell we don't even have to register our guns here.

Got to love the Old West......... ;)
