Only problem is, it's all running right into the ocean! D'oh! Problem with paving over the land, water flows faster to rivers and drainages and more efficiently to the ocean. Not nearly as much sinks into the ground to replenish aquifier as in days of old.
    Escaped on a technicality.

          Pics from Wednesday morning.

The truck in the water has a huge lift and they're just going through there for fun. We were supposed to get really whalloped last night, on top what we already got, but no. Now things are drying out a bit.

Best of luck to all. We get hurricanes (but not lately), Michigan & Minnesota (location of Grands) get snow over your head, and Cali either burns or floods. I guess it's always SOMETHING.

I'll take flooding over fires. We are in the floor of a valley and expect to get a bit damp sometimes, but the fires are scary crazy. Last time I spent three nights on the roof of that house with a water hose, watching the flames in the hills and waiting for the wind to switch our way and have it all come down the riverbed and hit us. We've been lucky but freinds have lost everything. Fires didn't used to be that kind of problem here but the two main types of trees, pine and eucalyptus, have each got a bug scourge and there are thousands of acres of brown where there used to be green. Euc burns HOT.

Our soccer coach's husband had a '70 440 6-pack Cuda in a concrete block building in the middle of open area. The flames came down the hills and along the ground in a storm, the heat actually split a wall down the middle and turned that car (and their house) into a puddle. I didn't take any photos.

One house had it five foot deep
