  • Vegas- Where to stay??

The wife and I are planning a trip to Vegas in April. More than likely going to be a long 3 or 4 day weekend out there and was just curious where everyone recommends staying?
Also been looking into travelocity and wouldn't mind booking the flight and room all at once. But as always, if I can save some money on who I book through, the more I can spend out there. ;D

So any past stories of where you stayed, who you booked through, good places to eat, and of course which machine WILL PAYOUT is greatly appreciated!!

I am not looking for the cock roach inn either just middle of the road, on the new strip??, and a good time to be had for my wife and I.

    Thanks in advance.

I think it would be cheaper to book the flights and rooms separately or at least that's what I have heard as well. Maybe someone could shine a little light on that??

BOOOGHAR- Are those deals they email you about a week or 2 out or months out?

My wife and I stayed at the Monte Carlo on our honeymoon. We loved it there! It was really nice, wasn't all about being a casino like some of the others. They have several restaurants on-site, the buffet was really good, a nice pool (if it's pool season) and are in a good location on the strip to access other places. I have also stayed at Caesar's Palace and given the choice of the two, I'd go back to Monte Carlo in a heartbeat.

We also ate at a place called Fatburger, not far from the Monte Carlo. Really good burgers and o-rings!

It cost a little more than some of the other places, but the hotel and room were gorgeous, there were several different places to eat, and we later found out they have a place that sells the everclear slurpees we went on an epic quest through MGM for lol. If you sign up for their email list, last time I looked, you get 30% off. For flights I always use kayak.com to compare prices and it saved me $300 on my Christmas day flight, so heck yeah I'll recommend it.
....I loved Mandalay Bay....but I stayed for FREE.....in a 2900 sq ft suite......things like that happen when your brand new enclosed trailer is stolen out of their "SECURED EVENT" parking lot......The thieves were after the pair of 50k choppers that were supposed to be it....but we got too drunk at the after party and left them in Venue..so they stole an empty trailer....the cops found it complete 12 hours after I left town..lol

We stayed at South Point this year, and it was really nice. Big rooms, lots of restaurant and bar choices, nice pool and the hotel convenience store had the cheapest booze anywhere. It's about five minutes south of the strip, but it's on LV blvd, and it's a new hotel.

We got it for $35.00 a night. ;D
