  • What to do with a gift card?

A generous relative dropped a $100 Harbor Freight gift card on me for Christmas.

Since I've never bought anything other than tarps, paint scrapers, and junk like that from them, I have no idea what to use it for. Keep in mind that I'm currently without a garage or car project, other than general maintenance on the two DD's.

    Let the suggestions fly.

Go to a Harbor Freight store,
    Get a buggy,
    Stroll around every isle,
Put what looks usable or interesting into the buggy.

    There you go !!

This thread will give you over 2000 hints on what is worth buying at HF:

Or put it towards one of these toolboxes which are apparently pretty good. If you find (very easily) the $349 coupon and use a 20% coupon and your $100 you are only into it for $180.

          http://garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=85523

Or one of these service carts for $169 (or $69 for you.)

Here's a guy who went pretty nuts at HF and got a huge box and filled it up all from HF for about $3k.

if you buy tools , don't buy the loose tools on the pegboards up top , the slightly more expensive tools in the boxes down low are better quality

if you have any foam board to cut the hot knifes work pretty good - just cut some 8ft 2" boards with one tonight - no mess.
