  • good deal for a LS engine ?

I stopped by my buddies salvage yard and asked how much his LS engines go for, a example he told me was a 5.3 with 49K miles, no accesoreys, no tranny, no puter for $800 out the door. I could prolly talk to his dad and get the puter thrown in on the deal soooooooo yes ? no? maybe ?

on a side night, would I need the stock engine harness if going into a old chevy for example and aquired a new harness from painless for example

$800 for the 5.3 with accessories is a good deal if you get the harness and pcm. I pickup longblocks and completes for alot less.

Dave (STD) recently got a no miles 6.0 for not much more than that with everything included.....

SO....If he wants to throw in everything.....Yep....if not....keep looking.

PS.....I bought a 5.3 with no accy, harness, or pcm for $200.
      200 mph or bust.......

If you have to start paring down the electronics, try to keep the coils. They're money.

I know where there's a nicely broken - er - broken-in LS for WAY cheap. Call Honest Seth's used LS lot and ask for Luke.

$800 seems high for a 5.3. Have you checked LKQ? I thought 5.3's were around $400-500 and 4.8's were practically free.

Re: good deal for a LS engine ?

complete 5.3s from lkq auto parts are $450

the only way id be paying $800 for a 5.3 is if it cam with EVERYTHING necessary to make it run, other then that, keep looking
