  • Guys, This is... Somebody Explain it...

This year we will experience 4 unusual dates.... 1/1/11, 1/11/11, 11/1/11, 11/11/11 .... NOW go figure this out.... take the last 2 digits of the year you were born plus the age you will TURN this year and it WILL EQUAL TO 111

so in a sense, we all start from zero. ???

    73+38 = 111

    that is funny.

But why all the ones? There's bound to be a math expert amongst us. I'm too tired to think and I probably can't figure it out anyway.

we all function from the same scale of the date of '0'

a math expert would have a fancy word I am sure...or a programmer. I encountered these things on my own, programming.. and still don't have someone elses english for it. ;)

Monk, WHY? I hate puzzles, I really do. Why does that formula work?

you actually have to use how old youre going to turn this year, not how old you are at the moment

This trick does not always work PW

For instance, say some one was born in 1899 and
they will be 112 this year, then by that calculation, the sum would be 211.

Its just an obvious mathematical equation

Somebody here who's good at math, and good at explaining math can explain that formula, and why it works.

If there's any puzzle I can crack, it's a math puzzle, with sleep and a clear mind, but that one up front has me stumped. The relationship between numbers, and...no, I can't crack that one.

                          Surely somebody here can.

                            I think you better put

So what's the significance of of using the 1900's as a birth date? Or if it's more than a hundred year life span, that makes the formula not work?

Dang, I've thought too much today already. I can't handle the math.

Edit: Before I go to bed, I'm still trying to post all I can before the world ends because BangShifting is fun!
