14 out of 17. I got one the Hemis wrong and a couple others I dont remember. I guessed at the Mopar one by the alternator.

15 of 17.... a mopar wrong (did get the 413), and one of my guesses... oh yeah, early hemi I guessed wrong.... oh well, if the worst I do is miss mopar and fords; then I'm doing well.

17 of 17 "EZ" (You can take the decrepit geezer out of Western Auto (RIP) , but you apparently can't take Western Auto out of the decrepit geezer . . . .)

Got 'em all. I kind of guessed on the 348 but I guessed right. They should have tossed in a 215 aluminum Buick, maybe a Studebaker V8 or a Packard. Interesting old stuff. Or even a Porsche DOHC V8 (that one would throw me off and I know of their existence). A BBB would be cool, too. I found it kind of easy - but I'm an old guy.

I don't think that's a sure way to tell nowadays. Maybe on a motor that's never been apart. Because the dipstick goes in the oil pan, not the block, a 409 pan can be put on a 348

    I got 17 of 17.

I wouldn't do as well if the engines where out of the cars, with no accesories. Alternators become a giveaway,or tie breaker if you will. Remove them, paint all engines black and repeat the test.

I too was tipped off on the "dipstick",but it was at a car show about 30 years ago.
