  • Unfriggin' believable......

All set to close on the new house on Monday.... at least we WERE all set.....

Seems the idiotic appraiser who appraised the house I'm selling screwed the appraisal up (listed wrong sales price, did not include my shop, etc etc.) He later fixed it after my realtor caught the error. We thought it was all fixed, but my buyer's lender (out of town) is all twisted off for some reason because of the correction even though the appraiser included a letter of explanation. My buyers are FREAKING ANGRY with their now ex- lender and now have a local bank (same that is handling my loan) haulin' ass to get the loan stuff all set up so we can close on next Friday. What a nightmare. My buyers are coming from out of town and they were supposed to have movers at their house today.

All because one 'professional' did not do his job properly.

On a positive side note, I will probably have time on Saturday to fire up the Mustang. haha

    DAMMIT!!!

I HATED the purchasing process of buying my house and I HATED the re-financing process I did two years later.
    Escaped on a technicality.

      Crap! Double Crap!!

At least your bank saw an opportunity to step and do something. Says something for them.... of course being local (I assume smaller?) helps, they answer to themselves usually.

Still keeping closing date set, that's a good sign too.

(We're applying right now to build, out of state, and not primary residence. I feel your pain somewhat.)

I have nothing but good to say about Amarillo National Bank (the largest family-owned bank in the US). They have been aces throughout this whole process.

My buyers are dying to move in because the husband has been here working for the past month (ConocoPhillips) while his family was back in Tulsa. So it sucks for me, but it SSSUUUUUUCCCCKKKKSSSS for them.

Hang tight Ranger, it reads like it a delay, a twist in the adventure.

RE the shop and such, when we went to sell our house in SC to move over here to TN, we found that outbuildings don't count. We had two outbuildings - a shed for lawnmower and such and a genuine Beverly Hillbilles two-room open-air cabin on the lot. And we took three years to build a mighty nice pier on the lake in stages. I was thinking the whole time, I was putting money out on the water that we'll get back with interest.

But nope, at least in SC they only appraise the house itself and that's all.

My Mom was a realtor for many years - oh the horror stories I can remember hearing around the dinner table, some brought Mom to tears - and she's a strong woman!

Keep the faith - patience at times like these is hard to find, but it's what you need to get you through - good to know there are still some banks out there that genuinely look after thier clients.

I sure hope it's smooth sailing from here, and the new house is all you hope it will be, in improvement of your quality of life.

ah buy'n a house.. the most stressfull ordeal to get to the happies day in your life(unless you already have kids and married,then......)

I lost a house I wanted real bad, it was in abington , on a side street off of 139 almost at the town line.
it was an estate sale.. with granny fresh wallpaper all over and carpet covered hard wood.. 3 bedroom ,one bath, full basemant
just under an acer with a one car garage

but on the side of the back yard was a chicken coop, 8" cerment slab and 4 garage doors and one human door.
so it was basicly a 6 car garage with room to spare.. wired with it's own 100amp service..
                  asking price in 1998 139000.oo
bank came back and said my income to dept was to high. thats when I found out others can #### up your credit..
and when it's a family member. > > > > >.. thank God it didn't take long to get fixed, because dumb dumb called the copps when I emptied the checking account that was open in my name.. (he was paying the min on the credit cards he opened in my name with a checking account he opened in my name..) and he had cashed many "conven checks" that c.c. would send. so I started calling all the creditcard co. on my credit report and I'm telling them it's not me, and they come back that I'm paying the bill. with a bank boston checking account, in my name, I tell them I don't have a bank boston account.. they over night a copy of a few of the checks "i've sent them"
so I walk into the hingham branch and am asking how this happened, did you know they'd open an account over the phone, back then, I didn't know that either.. so I say I want to close my account, and the bank managed said I couldn't as it's not mine and the money isn't mine..
it took calling the cops to the bank to get the bank to close an account in my name that I never opened, to an address that wasn't mine.. and take the cash out. and close it..
well like I said dumb dumb was bullshit, and walked into bank bostons quincy's branch raise'n hell "why you close MY ACCOUNT they sat down and asked the normal shit, name,ss#,mothers mad name, address, etc and while doing this called the cops..
bank boston held the money that was in that account and sent it back to the c.c companies that could prove bank boston cashed their checks..
but what a ####ing mess,, I.D. theft wasn't a fed crime then, so not much happened.. but if they catch him now, I don't know how they'd charge him. under the old laws or the newer fed laws..
anyway, I hope I neve have to deal with a mess like that again..
