  • Saying goodbye to an old racer ,Billy Barrett

I doubt anyone here knew Willy B but, he was a hard core racer .... every weekend for as long as I can remember he was there

    Banging gears !!

He passed on recently , just wanted say in public ..RIP to the man, the legend

When I was knee high to a pushrod, he ran a 1958 Ford -312/4speed

Then he got a 2 door sedan fairlane , one day ..at the stripe----he jammed on the brakes a bit hard

we all pitched in some money, week later he was back !!

George, Last time I was able to visit with Willy B was maybe ... 2000 ?

He was there, riding around the pits on his old bicycle like always , told me he was going to take a year off to watch a grand kid play baseball .

Not sure if he returned or not , those that knew him , got to know a true racer ..

awesome old dude, always had a big smile on his face

And ,man .... he loved FORDS and 4SPEEDS !

I am going to miss Bill

we had so many battles over the years , he smoked ciggys like double 90 ..I'm sure that caused his downfall

I was one of the firsts on site when he tumbled ..

He had a death grip on the wheel , upside down with his lap belt

The look on his face, I'll never forget ..

He was a awesome guy, just a great person , so full of life and loved, loved LOVED drag racing
