Styles may come from the West and go to the East, but the speed side of things kind of go from the East and head to the West. I say most of that is from the Southeast to the West. NASCAR is just fool proofing the system.

Right. Which makes your statement about "probably burning pistons by the trainload on the dyno ..." foolish.

Re: Nascar EFI pushed off to 2012

no , preset , locked maps , you can't tune it bwwaahawaha ,
they have to build the motor around the tune

but nobody is complaining [50k out yo wallet ]

And where does it say that? The firmware is locked not the tuning. Show me where it says that you can't richen or lean the mixture, just like on a carb?

                        It doesn't preclude tuning.

we will have to read the manual , but I think it will be a locked system , like a factory deal , looking at temp , map , tps , if there is tuneability , that would be cheating , but just the name of the company took a year to come out ...it isn't like drag racing

Sometimes I think you're just sitting the ball on the tee so we can take a swing. Try at least an underhand throw. ;)

NASCAR calls new fuel injection system cheat-proof

By CHRIS JENKINS, AP Sports Writer Feb 11, 8:25 pm EST

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP)—NASCAR is making the move to fuel injection in 2012, and officials insist the new system will be completely cheat-proof.

NASCAR vice president of competition Robin Pemberton said the new fuel injection system will have safeguards to make sure teams can’t tamper with them in an attempt to improve engine performance.

“They will be bulletproof,” Pemberton said. “They will be cheat-proof.”

NASCAR announced Friday that McLaren Electronic Systems and Freescale Semiconductor will develop and provide the fuel injection systems to Sprint Cup series teams.
