  • Noseart

So, for this race season the Escort is going pretty much as is where the body work is concerned (faded black paint with a faded blue hood and hatch). The one thing I do want to add, though, is some WW2 style noseart. Nothing to raunchy, just a chick in a dress sitting back on two stacked drag slicks, done up in ww2 style. Since it will probably only be on there a season, and it will be nothing I am (to) ashamed of showing my mother, I am not really worried about getting in any trouble for it. But I have not been able to come up with a good name for the thing. These are what I have so far, but I am looking for more ideas.

That was the old car's first nickname, but then I found out that this weird dude with an ol' line six Camaro has that name covered for ECTA racing, and his car buzzes more than mine do.

I voted for nothing. Make your mark on the track first, then make your name. Just my opinion. If it was mine I would let the results speak,I am just more humble of a person like that.

Is the left front quarter/driver's door straight, or is that just an odd reflection?

To say what I can do with a car, a dent in the sheet metal is all the reason to leave it alone, or call somebody and write a check....which is why I'm not a car guy. I'm pitiful that way. I'm a car idiot. No, car moron.

              Re: Noseart

If you are going to go subtle and cool with it, have the chick with the slicks and under it in cursive script write:

              Escort Svc
That which you manifest is before you.

And THAT can go over to the other thread of Great Race Car Names! :D
                Escaped on a technicality.

No illusion, Peewee-that car has 25000 miles- and as far as my research has shown, about 15000 of them are track miles. The body has suffered a few minor dings, plus a frontal impact into the drivers side of a Porsche. (totalled the Porshe)

RealSteelFreak- It's an Escort- what kind of mark is it going to make? :D In all seriousness though, the plan for the noseart and name is purely a temporary thing, until I can afford the bodywork and red/white two tone paint, hopefully next season.

Brian, you have to get that one to pass with my parents. You clear that, and it'll be there.

You want me to break out the pencils or fire up photoshop when you figure out the name? I could do a V-1 Buzzbomb easy enough...

                          Re: Noseart

Hey, I'm a pretty good debater...bring it on.

Here's my advice if you want to go after that one. Print a bunch of photos of real WWII era nose art. There were some downright lurid things on those planes, and damn it all, there should have been because those guys were going up to get there asses shot off lots of times.

You said that you weren't looking for anything too graphic or racy, which is why I think the name works. It's fun, it'll make people smile and I think it is pretty harmless.

I'll throw you an alternative free of charge.

Keep the same picture of the chicks and slicks. Under it write:

                          Miss Fitts
That which you manifest is before you.

Plenty of room to make a mark, you ran 103ish 104 , you push it into the teens or 120+ and I say you have done your homework and have earned something. I like the Escort and hope you do well. If I had one or come across one I have plans for it, not LSR plans, but I do have plans. Have fun with it , name it or paint it as you see fit . Personally I would go black and white Zebra stripes and name it Thoroughbred.

Let's start getting old nose art and race car names gathered. That is perfect for this car, we gotta talk the folks into it.
