ran over 7000rpm for an extended period of time, it developed a VERY loud knock, but was my only car, so i had to drive it to school, drove it to school for a week with the knock and it finally died and seized up in my driveway after i got home from school on friday, she was a trooper ;D
Good deal when they get you home before they break. My Stratus died in my driveway as well, though the ride home was a nailbiter.

it was all balanced, someone actually put a lot of money into it a long time ago, and i was actually told it was a 327 when i bought it although the block casting #'s say its a 350

the head bolt pattern held up..

I wonder why a two bolt main exists anyway.
          :

that should take 7000 rpm for 48 hours straight. :D

the bellies and mains..that is enough to run away from a favorite. :P

I'd still try that 4 bolt china block first.

that engine is very maine by the way.. it may have held up to the point of fictitious elsewhere. (I killed absolutely all of them), I usually get up front. I assume the performance motor had no heat rise in the middle of intake?

Is this an advanced Haiku ersumshit?? Dude - the Elizabethan rhetoric really drives me up a wall

                Re: Engine carnage pictures

I had a little carnage going on this weekend myself. I spent the last three months rebuilding the 400 in the '55 and finished it off saturday. I took it for a test drive and made it 6 blocks when this happened........

You can see the aluminum 'gravel' in the top of all the cylinders

I believe a cracked skirt when pressing pins in was the cause but won't know until the block comes out this weekend. I've already ordered all the goodies for the 350 I picked up sunday and taking the 400 crank to have turned monday to build a 383 out of this mess.

No one put any money to anything....you got sold a bill of goods, that's what they do when you treat them like that.
I've sprayed plenty of those, you're lucky you only had one break.
