  • Do you ever ....

.... just dig thru the scrap pile, pull out some steel and start welding it together? It was a nice day today, so that's what I did ....

So what have you stuck together with the remnants of left over steel?

    Re: Do you ever ....

Yep. Good looking table, my welding table is made up from some scrap square tubing and a semi truck wheel for a base, it's almost immovable. Yours looks like it could be moved easily.

I also built a plant stand made up of an old Dana 60 inner axle a large round valve handle and some strap steel.

              Nice work!

I walk by the scrap metal dumpster at work pretty often - recently I scored over 200lb of rectangular and square tubing from the local fab shop - at $0.45 / lb -- I may have enough to build a bumper for the superduty...

The biggest project I pulled from the scrap pile and started welding is a 65 GTO. Otherwise I make all kinds of stuff out of scrap metal laying around. I still have enough to build a T bucket, if I can get around to it with all the other projects.
