you seem self conscious enough to have some peewee unique tunage.
I still make stuff out of not quite liking what I am hearing.. I see you do not hesitate to tell it like it is. You must have a masterpice lurking within.

Boxer, thanks for the boost, and yeah, I've got maybe 20 songs I've written and recorded, and that's what's confuses me. What I write and record is not the blues. I love sure 'nuff old dead black guy blues played on acoustic. That stuff speaks to my soul. I love it. And that's what nobody wants to hear. It'll never sell. Not today, it sure won't.
But one thing about it, and it's a self-pleasure. when I set up the PA system with a stage monitor and rake that slide across the strings on that steel Dobro....oh godalmighty that sound. I have an internal orgasm. Just that SOUND. And I'm the one DOING it. Oh my gosh. It's not about me, it's about that sound. Geez, whatta sound. It's about that sound. I love that sound.
And nobody wants to hear it. Nobody except for me.
Might as well. None of those LA bands get money. They pay to play.
Now, here in Wichita the bands still get $150 per night, which is what I was making when I played back in the 70's and 80's.
The cost of gear has gone up considerably since then...
peewee, you're happy doing what you do,so why worry?Like the late Ricky Nelson once sang,"You can't please
everyone so just please yourself".I never enter car shows cuz I'm happy as it is,don't need my ego stroked.
I just please myself, makes life much more enjoyable.

HEMI, it was only this year or so I found out what that Ricky Nelson song was about. And it's still unclear to me, but it's a little better. Something about a big gig at Madison Square Garden Ricky was invited to, and he internally called great exception to all the celebrities who were there, and how fake they were. Or something like that.
You never know what's in a song by the words of it. I hate artists that way. Don't just give me a slight hint and make me think and guess, just SAY it dammit!
And musicians. Geez. An egotistical moody bunch of quirks. I've been amongst 'em, and I am grateful to this great world that I'm not one of them. And they vote, those who can get out of bed in time enough to do it.
"I used to play in a five-piece band down at the county line...and wound up doin' time."
Man, that's cool. I love it! Ohhhhhhhh yeah. The Boogie Man. Oh yeah.
Thanks so much Tedly, I had to look him up because I'd never heard him.. That stuff's cool. And it's not that hard to play. There it is - people having fun playing music. And it's great music. Just fun. There it is. That's what it should be about. THAT is what I'm missing.
Tedly for Blues President! And Don McMinn for vice.
