    Re: Wife's veiw on cars

It's probably a good thing my Wife doesn't care about the POS daily driver that I drive. I've always found it interesting and fun at the same time that people often Judge you by your DD and I'm a guy that couldn't care less!

      .02

Let her buy a CRZ for herself, and justify it with "Gets better mileage than the rogue and whatever I would get, so you're still ahead"

I saw one at work yesterday, and .... uhhh.... ummm.... don't take my man card, but they look kinda cool. If she's a civic chic, she'll love it.

No offense, but she sounds pretty young, my daughter would complain about me picking her up in the old lightning. The new one? No problem. Mustang with the top down? oh yeah. She would probably have walked if I showed up in a pimp daddy lincoln. Again, no offense... and 23 out of that car is f*ing great, so I'm not buying into the mileage story.

Good luck man. I know where you are. If you give in, you screw yourself. If you don't give in, you end up having to screw yourself. Not much of a win there.

She is probably a bit enbarrassed by the car and worried what her circle of ladies are saying. Many ladies equate old with bad no amount of logic will get passed that. Too bad, because they make expensive spouses.

That is exactly the type I traded in for one who is low maintenance and knows what my cars mean to me. Funny thing is the ex never worked and the new one does. The ex never understood that we wouldnt be saving money by buying a new car when all of my stuff was paid for and didnt break very often. Its not like shoes where they can buy 500 pairs and wear 2 of them.

I think I came out pretty good in this compromise. The miata will end up as an addition to the fleet I was going to sell the lincoln after I got my supercoupe on the road so its really just a few months sooner. The miata will be paid for out of the general fund not my hot rod fund. I did agree to put the money from the sell of the lincoln towards the miata. I have driven a few they are pretty fun just kinda small. And after she thinks its" to old" I get to put a v8 in it ;)

Ya know, I'm all ready to give you grief about the chick's car, but since my last purchase was a "cute" little Spider, I think I'll just go ahead and shut myself up now.

Tom, about that man card.... naw, too easy. ;D

                Re: Wife's veiw on cars

if you didn't have the other cars we would have to physically and permanently remove your man card. In order to avoid any further questions of the validity of your card, you must auto-cross the car and post videos here post haste.
