Buoyed by back-to-back top-10 finishes, Dale Earnhardt Jr. knows these are the type of performances he needs.
"Failure at this point is completely unacceptable, and I've got to put it all out on the line and do everything I can to make this work," Earnhardt said after finishing a season-high eighth at Las Vegas Motor Speedway this past weekend.
"I got nowhere else to go. I got no other options, really other than just to race myself into oblivion with my own team. But I want this to work."
Earnhardt's Vegas run followed a 10th-place finish at Phoenix the week before -- only the third time since 2009 that he's had back-to-back top-10 finishes. He had seven back-to-back top 10s in 2008, including four in a row. That was the last year he made the Chase.Comment
