  • May 2011 HotRod, '08-'11 Dodges are POS's

Story is on Page 74, you guys read this stuff??

"Axle breaks(anytime the car hooks up)"

    Cam limited

    Pistons fail at any level.

    Crank bends at 650hp

    Rods break at 600hp

Are these cars really what they are cracked up to be?? Or just more OEM POS's to satisfy the masses??

Uhmm... maybe the engineers didn't engineer them for nitrous and blowers and stuff?

Everyone knows that Mustangs and Camaros and Vettes and Challengers are going to be modified. Certainly especially in the case of the Mustang, they are over-engineered, knowing that many of them will not stay stock for long. It's pretty insane when a car can go 8's on the factory third member, but all of the sudden that is the standard a car has to be engineered to??

The comment on the pistons failing "at any power level" is due detonation, not merely upping the power.

What naturally aspirated car can be modded to put out 600/600 to the wheels with out significant motor and drivetrain reinforcements? ???

I've seen more than one stock CTS-V completely explode the center chunk of the IRS on the drag strip.

Yes, I'm a CarJunkie... How many times would YOU rebuild the same engine before getting a crate motor?

And fleet cars, we have 2 of them at work. What a POS. The power steering doesn't work when they are cold. Both are 2 years old with ~50K on them.

Brave talk about axles from someone with a 7.5" behind their LS1. As far as I'm concerned, we need to start forming class action suits against detroit when they put IRSs in muscle cars.

I guess I meant fleet, but it was a rental I read about.
