but it say's I'm not allowed to post in that area...
what gives

How do I add an event to the Calendar?
If you have the appropriate permissions, there will be a box on the Calendar labelled 'Add New Event'. The administrator may have enabled registered members to post public events, but usually this is not the case. It's more likely that you can only post your own private events that can only be seen by you.

and a calender,
or there is no need for it then
also not everyone goes to the event forum nor does everyone want to post it ahead of time (so people can make plans) and have to bump it over and over again so it doesn't get buried..
thats where the calender come in.. easy, whats going on this month without having to search though tons of thread, and no bumping of threads

Once we have our stuff together here, I'll have an e-mail address where people can send event data to me and I will update the calendar. If not it would be a giant free for all and be clogged with useless junk.
