    Are you a sports fan?

As I sit here watching the Red Sox game, after I watched the Celtics game, and celebrated the Bruins win last night, I got to wondering. I know lots of car guys/girls are not sports fans for one reason or another, but I think lots are.

I have a lunatic theory that drag racing fans and hockey fans are kindred spirits, but that is just me.

Simple question. Are you a sports fan?
That which you manifest is before you.

Im a baseball fan of sorts, can I give you players names and stats, no, But I do enjoying watching it and going to games whether it be college, minor league or the pros.

Ima Angels fan and do follow them daily thru the MLB website, thier face book page and Angels official website and im sure Brian and myself will be throwing playful verbal jabs at another thru out the season as the Boston and Anaheim face off (YES I still call them by the town they play in, ANAHEIM not LA, they have thier own crappy NL team)

on another note I did spend some time watching Sun Devil baseball at ASU watching some punk named Pedroia play there when he was in college

I watch some hockey (have to, otherwise the Canadian citizenship gets revoked). LOL Also watch some basketball.

With out local teams not making the playoffs (again!!) I've been rooting for the Bruins, mostly hoping that they eliminate those dirty Habs, and also Vancouver, the only "real" Canadian team in the playoffs.

Love watching the Celtics too, Ray Allen is still amazing.

I like hockey, but I don't follow much more than MTU's team. I don't really enjoy it, but I also follow the MTU women's basketball team since they are actually pretty good. Runner this year for whatever division we are in or something. Irony: A school with a 3.5:1 male/female ratio on the northern border of the United States has a crappy men's hockey team and a great women's basketball team.

I used to be a sports nut.
                It left off with nascar...

I did get sick, ears included.15 years ago. did not like TV sounds, let alone screaming crowds. No loud cars anymore either.

never picked back up on that stuff. basketball, baseball, all of them....nothing.

..and for me too, the druggie/thief stories..I even pay no attention to movies unless it is a landlside winner of opinions. older actors only.

kinda depressing isn't it. I guess being 38 has some to do with it. Look back at my teen years and growing.. what the heros would be if it were not for being busted. Real shame...and then we got crammed into front wheel drive retarded fule injection...and fake cars at nascar... Exciting evolving integrity filled life we lead.

I'll just make my own damn sports.

I was raised up in a house where my dad watched every Atlanta Braves baseball game that was aired on the only channel we could pick up on the antenna. That was when they were losing. From that, no I don't like baseball at all. A 3-hour game boils down to 15 seconds of exciting highlights.

Was a rabid NASCAR fan until the last couple years, it simply wore off, or I grew out of it. Too much money and hype, and they won't let me drive anyhow.

Basketball....no. Tennis, no. Golf - you have to be a golfer to watch golf. My dad put a golf club in my hand when I was knee-high. I played for 25 years and got worse as I went along. You're supposed to get better with practice. I got worse.

This is getting depressing...okay, football. Yeah! Sue Unit is from Pittsburgh and we have a Terrible Towel, the real deal, so Go Steelers! Yeah, that's the ticket.

                  Steelers.

EDIT: Wait, I left out hockey. What's that? Crazed Yankees on a frozen lake. I can't identify with that.

I like watching and participating in most sports but ................................ In today's world it is getting tougher and tougher to watch with the money taking over. I know it takes money to produce these events but it seems as though lately you watch a commercial and sometimes a game or race breaks out! That's why I retreat to the garage and get lost in my projects.
Solutions are often obvious once you get the questions right.

I could careless. I do watch the superbowl (for the commercials and an excuse to eat junk food) and some college football on occasion. I don't care for NASCAR much unless they are on a short track. I do like watching drag racing and dirt track racing, but have fun catching those on tv.

                            Iowa Hawkeyes? sweet!! me too!!
college sports yes, pro sports no so much. i love watching college any sport. those kids still do it for the love of the game, pros say they do. i call bs on that. to much showboating and not enough "real" playing. you can just see the raw emotion in every play at the college level. so with that, i am a Iowa Hawkeye/Boise State Broncos fan. will watch playoff and championship pro sports. during the winter, if there is a college basketball game on, you will find me infront of the tv watching no matter who is playing. in the fall i get very little done, football season you know.

Brian, I think the Southern version of your theory involves SEC Football and drag racing.
