  • drive it till the wheels come off

That's what I always said I would do to my little wagon, I just never thought about what it would really be like when that day happened. Well it almost happened this morning, I was taking the kids to the bus stop because of the rain and when I got to the stop sign I heard a bang, the brake line tore apart and the back end went to the right. I'm afraid it might have left an everlasting scar on Nick. Just yesterday I drove it 150 miles at 60-65 mph and filled it up with gas when I got home. I always thought the transmission would go out first.

Me too, it ran like a top.
I always got a weird feeling something would happen everytime I filled it up with gas.

I was wondering if I should do something like this with it?
matt keenan cut this 85 subaru in half for fun. we drove it around the field and tried to do some donuts and burnouts. not a fail the best win ever.

X2!... tub that thing! If it's been a great car, keep it around a little longer.

                It wasn't that great!
I'm going to go look at a pick-up later today, then I can pull my camaro around. I've been half ass looking for one for a while.

LOL, he's more than welcome to take a shot at it, but I don't think there is anything to weld to.

Yea - I'm afraid my focus (referred to affectionately as feces) wagon is a couple years from that sort of failure - the rockers are shot.

Is there anything you could use the engine in? Maybe an S-10? or another cavalier you could get cheap with a blown engine?

I know - hard to get amped up about major thrashes for daily drivers.

that is exactly where my old subaru was headed.

even punk rock tried to kill the metal, but metal was in the way.

it never quite failed, I do go nuts if to witness it. never to be oem again..and then there is the wait for density after repairs...and that is priceless.

I can understand giving up after ripping that are apart.
funny enough, it doesn't matter if its AWD, FWD, or RWD, transverse or normal mounted engines.

optimistically, it is an indicator you had back brakes.

Yeah, the back brakes worked, right up until the axel twisted and pulled the brake line appart. I made a u-turn and drove it back home, lucky I live at the top of a hill. I was able to put it in netrual for a bit until it stopped then put it in park.

It rules that you have a factory AWB wagon now.

It rules even more than you drove it back home!
