  • circle track racing?

Talking to the wife for a bit this evening....
I told her I am the greatist thing since sliced bread and I'd like to give circle track racing a try...
I know nothing about it other than a monte carlo i know is for sale....I have a trailer and a truck and I want to see if there is a bomber class I can get into...
I am so much dreaming here, but i have a nice 350 just sitting too....hmmm, I'm thinking I might be able to pice a red-neck dream here, lol......thoughts?

first off, dirt or asphalt ?

find a track in your area, go check out the track, walk the pits talk to the other drivers, found out whos the top dog and see if you can pick thier brain

notice what cars are in the front, then after the races check out those cars, ask the drivers how they got thier car to the front

read the rules for the class you want to run, best bet is entry level, if you run dirt tires are cheaper that running on pavement

be prepared for damage - bent wheels, shreaded tires, torn up body panels, busted radiator

I'm thinking about it....we watched a show last night about Dale Earnhart, she seemed to be into that more than any drag racing enviorment I've ever thrown her into. I'm really thinking about it...She said I'm just like Dale, the eye's, smile, attitude...
Insert witty comment here...................I'm thinking it's just a big go-kart with a 350...I can handle it.

a list of catalogs to get

                          day motorsports

                          speedway motors racing catalog

                          performance bodies

                          and afco

the bomber / enduro / pure stock class usually run a 350 "stock heads" "stock intake" "stock quadrajet" "stock ignition" ect ect

suspension is the biggest thing on those cars, you said monte carlo so im guesstimating its the G body, racing springs and racing shocks are a must, even if it requires modifying them to appear stock then you have your wheel offsets on the rear to tighten and loosen the car up fuel cell placement and of coarse scaling the car

Do some learning before hitting the track. Have fun. Life is too short not to try different stuff.

I'm kinda in the same boat now. I have the opportunity to go on Drag Week, but not sure what I need to do to get the car ready.
