  • Saying goodbye to my red white & blue S-10

For the past 2 weeks I have been hacking away at it, today I finished it off..
It was no longer roadworthy so I arranged a date with the sawzall.

I have a bud in SC who needs a frame... a bit late. Hell a clean little truck like that up here would make a nice hotrod.

That truck was far from clean, Ohio killed the frame BAD. That's why I cut it up.
It only had 98,000 miles on it too *crys* :c(...

Sue Unit's dad had an S-10 that you could see through when he got rid of it.

        Nothern rot. Common story.

But I'm real curious. Why did you so meticulously cut it up? Was that just a ceremonial something to do?

I mean, stuff we're done with down here in the South just goes to the masher, and that's that. I'm dumb. Bear with that question.

My clean North Carolina truck needs a few sheet metal parts, & it isn't often I get to cut up a 1st gen S-10..
So I figured I'd try to save as much as I can, plus I need a few things for a Red 86 S-10 I 'might' be buying hehehehe

I've always loved the older bodystyle S-10's, especially the Blazers. I'm trying to find an older two wheel drive 2.8/5 speed model. I want to yank out the wheezy 2.8 and maybe drop in an old 283. I've even considered the 3.4 since that's a bolt-in swap.

                2dr 2wd 5spd 1st gen S-10 Blazers w/283's fuggin rule! My friend had one w/283 5spd.
Damn was it fast/fun! He'd rev it to 7 grand no problem, at least it sounded like 7 grand lol!

The floors look pretty clean! The frame rotted huh? bummer... 98,000 is barely broke in.

I scrapped an early s-10 last summer.....it was very similar. Body was rough but still servicable - - frame was nothing but scale held together with more scale. Scary-nasty!
Of all the paths you take in life - make sure a few of them are dirt.

The floors looked good but they were wasted..
I cut the cab down to the floor pan & lifted it off by hand without removing any cab mount bolts.

Yes, but I 'might' need it for the V8 swap so I'm gonna hold onto it just in case.
I can get you a fusebox though, that shouldn't be a problem.
You just need the box, or do you need all of the wiring too?
