I'm talking about Chad & Brian, many times I've sat at home and watched the live feed from an event they're covering not realizing what it takes to pull off a feat like that. I met up with them at the Bowling Green NHRR and I now understand what it takes to pull something like that off, first you get the Permissions granted, then rent whatever equipment is needed, secure the Flight, Motel rooms and Rental Car (poor car) then you have to set everything up and then it pack it all up at the end of the Event. Then of course they're out there risking Life, Limb and "hand" but also enjoying every minute of it of course. I've been around awhile (understatement) and I really don't believe there's a team out there that compares to them when it comes to the knowledge of the Sport, the Racers they know and last but not least some of the Hilarious comments and conversation they come up with during the Broadcast. I'm really not trying to give you guys a big head over this (especially Brian) I just wanted you to know that we appreciate the efforts!
Our guys in the field!

Second those comments.
It was hotter than hell out on the field in Beech Bend and those guys
were up in that scaffold doing a yeoman's job.
Commentary was excellent!
Chad & Brian both came over to the cruise to say hello at the Holiday Inn
......they could've just as easily called it a day after a long day shooting.
Brian even came over.....bandaged hand and all..... the next night to shoot
the breeze.
They're both tougher than pine knots.
We're damn fortunate they work their asses off to give us a
place to hang out.
Phil.........I just missed you on Friday but did get to see the wheels
up.....better watch out or AARP will up your rates.

i got a small glimps into what chad and brian do just covering a event like the NHRR last year, and all we did was shoot photos, uploading over 2,500 photos over a 3 day event, writing blogs and the other stuff it takes to do what they do those guys it just baffles meCharles W - BS Photographer at largeComment

They definately work their asses off at least five times as much off air as they do on air.Escaped on a technicality.Comment

For sure. I tried keeping up with them at SEMA...they are all over the place at once and shooting TONS of pics. And I'd be remiss if I also didn't mention their backup support, too. Dustin has helped out a lot in the background, keeping everything flowing smoothly for them.Editor-at-Large at...well, here, of course!

Covering motorsports, especially drag racing, isn't necessarily always as glamorous as some folks might think... It's a lot of hard work, and when duty calls that takes you outside the comfort of the air-conditioned press suite, when you're out there pounding the pavement to get a story, it's hot, it's humid, it's loud, it's sticky, and sometimes just downright grueling... I give you guys a lot of credit for all you do... And yeah, ya gotta be careful, always be on your guard, it can be dangerous at times... Stay safe out there...
sure, it looks easy, it looks fun, and yeah, sometimes it is-- however, sometimes it's a real grind...

not when it was your hobby in the first place, a hobby is work you view as fun..Originally posted by Diana The Doc View PostCovering motorsports, especially drag racing isn't necessarily as glamorous as some folks might think... yeah, there's plenty of fun and good times involved, and most folks who get involved with this stuff started with it as a hobby, but the reality of it all, the true "nature of the beast" (the occasionally grueling and unforgiving drag strip environment) very often dictates a degree of seriousness, coupled with conservative caution, that you've got to adhere to... Ya keep smilin', havin' fun and feelin' warm 'n' fuzzy inside, but you always must remain respectful and aware of the volatile arena in which you occupy... that's drag racin'...Comment
