  • Holy crap it was 111 degrees here yesterday.

    All time high for Amarillo.

What's funny is, we went to the pool and we were freezing when we got out of the water because of the wind! haha!

Is it a dry heat? Those temperatures with lotsa humidity would be downright unbearable.

The most uncomfortable weather I've ever endured was New Orleans in August.... Death Valley in July was easier to deal with.
There's always something new to learn.

            I hear you.

I guess its what you're used to. I've been back to DC a couple of times and can't stand the humidity.
            I'm still learning

its 104 and its only 10am...they are looking at a high of 110 today here in the valley.

I hate swimming out here for the very reason BBR mentioned...instant evaporation cooler.

there were some white puffy clouds in the sky yesterday, that's a good sign...means some moisture in the air...hopefully this heat kick starts the monsoons so we get some water...

After eons of winter here, we've had over a week of ~88*F +/-2*F and the ten day forecast shows it may drop ten degrees for a few days before going back to ~90*F. It's been awesome lately, the only crime is I'm mostly an office jockey now, wish I were out in the pit working. Went to the lake on Saturday for the Bath Tub races and swimming.

Be prepared with the most accurate 10-day forecast for Ely, NV with highs, lows, chance of precipitation from The Weather Channel and Weather.com
                      Escaped on a technicality.

Wish I could send some of this water your way. This was last week. Still under boil order.

                            It's 106 here in the high plains....wow.

But we should be getting our summer rains any week now.
