All I ever take with me is my little black bag, and I don't think I'm going to say whats in it. I have my credit card too, with those I've usually been able to survive for long perriods at a time. Don't get me wrong, it's been touch and go a few times, I just haven't been back to those states in a while.

Everything for the car that I don't want to have to work on, I take with me...that way I won't need it.

Sunburn lotion and a hat are nice to have, too.

Randall, I was like you once.....When my old Ram was nice, I used to belong to a Ram club....When something would go wrong I was the go-to guy for everything...be it a cleaner, polish, rags, tools, spare parts, water, oil, trans fluid....I used to have a road trip box....I was a hero if only for a moment....

I have a black tote in the back of my Tahoe that goes everywhere. It's got tools, first aid, sunscreen, a hat, gloves, electrical stuff, bottled water, jumper cables, fix-a-flat, an air compressor, flashlight, spare serp belt, an MRE, a tow strap...all kinds of stuff in it. I never leave home without it. I also have a little mini fridge that plugs into in my cigarette lighter.

                    For a road trip:
                    -appropriate clothes
                    -camera, charger and batteries
                    -GPS
                    -folding camp chair
-cash money...never know when the debit card won't be any good to ya

I'm down to two ride-related items - the AAA card and the credit card. Maybe the cell phone counts, too.

                      the trip-related stuff -
                      duds
meds (necessary at my age and in my condition)
no food or drinks - I have to stop to pee too often for it to matter if I have an onboard stash or not

                      That's about it

hmmmmmmmm, actually, a tough question. Peewee always teased me for me choice of "ride" necessities since I grew up in the frozen wasteland.......blankets, salt, jumper cables, cardboard, and winter coats.

Living in the south for so many years now, I have given up blankets, salt, cardboard and winter coats (as extra just in case on road trips). Now we go with sunglasses, CDs, water, snacks, a dog, and his leash.

Lets see.....non ride related..........hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, comfy clothes, chairs. Ok, that's 5, so I am done. Cooler, ice, beer, oh wait, I am done...heehee
