    • These are the only Hot Wheels I've got left. I gave a bunch away and these were used on a model train set-up. I do have a blue '57 Chevy Hot Wheels Classic still in the blister pack.

This Mattel designed concept car features a long-sliding plastic canope that covers the passenger and engine compartments. The engine compartment houses an orange plastic turbine engine and there are openings at the back end of the car that you can blow into to spin the turbine. Models with a white interior are rare and are priced 300% higher. This model was manufactured in both the United States and Hong Kong with no significant casting differences.

This model is painted in Spectraflame Lime.

          • The Spoilers
In 1970, Mattel introduced a new series of Hot Wheels cars called The Spoilers. This series of cars was issued on its own blisterpack, with a design similar to the original Hot Wheels blister, picturing the Boss Hoss below the familiar Hot Wheels logo.

There were five models introduced in stores in 1970. they were the Heavy Chevy (based on the Chevrolet Camaro), King 'Kuda (based on the Plymouth Barracuda), Light My Firebird (based on the Pontiac Firebird convertible), Nitty Gritty Kitty (based on the Mercury Cougar) and the TNT-Bird (based on the Ford Thunderbird).

A sixth Spoilers was produced in 1970 for the Hot Wheels Club Kit, the Boss Hoss (based on the Ford Mustang Boss 302), but it did not become part of the normal lineup until the following year.
Dave The Bartender's Club Car - a Boss Hoss.

The Spoilers series of cars all featured exposed engines in open engine compartments, large front and rear airfoils (spoilers), white numbered circular stickers on each door and striped stickers across the roof, hood, trunk, etc. Each Spoilers also came with decals that had various sponsor's emblems and company logos the kids could apply to the cars.

All Spoilers were issued with matching Collector Buttons, except for the Club Kit Heavy Chevy and Club Kit King 'Kuda.

All models in the Spoilers series were manufactured in Hong Kong and have transparent blue windows, black painted grilles and red painted tail lights.

                          • Mongoose vs. Snake
By 1970, Mattel was sponsoring the Don "Snake" Prudhomme and Tom "Mongoose" McEwen racing teams. That year Mattel introduced the Mongoose and Snake Drag Race Set, which featured Hot Wheels versions of the famous Snake and Mongoose funny cars. The set let kids experience side-by-side racing and included a finish gate and parachutes to slow the cars down after the race.

Mattel also offered the famous and wildly popular Snake and Mongoose Hot Wheels funny cars separately. They were sold on their own specially designed blister cards based on the original Hot Wheels blister. Each card showed the Snake and Mongoose funny cars beneath the Hot Wheels logo.

They both feature a metal chassis and body that are hinged at the rear, allowing it to be opened to reveal metal engine, a one-piece black plastic roll cage, and a black plastic folding body support.

The model also came with paper stickers kids could apply to the sides, hood, roof, and trunk to make it resemble the real car. One side sticker was pre-applied at the factory and was placed on the passenger side of the car so it could be seen through the blister.
