I installed a set of rear sway bar link kits on a Mercury Mistake early Saturday morning for my buddy who is painting my house. Right after that, I installed a new cap, rotor, plugs and wires on a 92 Cadillac Brougham. It was a humid, sticky mess. Thankfully, I had cold Diet Bud in the fridge for afterwards.

They don't want us there, I'm going to Joliet this weekend but I'll be working on a different car.
Yeah, Robin has some projects now, and there is a trailer that goes with it. It's a pretty nice set up.

Putting a new pump on the air compressor tank today . I went from the small inline twin that Cambell Hausfeld sent it out the door to a big V twin from harbor frieght. Should give me another 20 psi and be able to keep up with air hungry tools better.

My dad has all the woodworking stuff, so I drove up to his house to build a console for my Astro van. I'm working on a cam chain and general maintenance on my daily driver Nissan truck. My GMC was moved but only because I needed the jackstands to do a couple of lowering jobs.

    Too freaking hot!!!

I think I'll try and stay out of the sun. I bought some supplies to build a "poor-boy" manometer. It'll give me the chance to do some air-flow comparisons without dropping large dollars on a bench. Should be an interesting diversion for awhile.

Second time in a week I almost drove (uncontrolled rolled...) my Skylark through a fence and off a ledge =P My backyard as a bit more down hill to it than it looks like. But all is well as my scrap pile with a tire infront of it has gone on for the save twice now.

    pictures of doggie door project.
Started with this broken down thing a year or so ago.
problem is the bloodhound breaks the sound barrier when she hits it - and is just tall enough to start tearing the rubber flap off - not good for energy savings.

if you've ever seen the movie Marmaduke, this is the door I installed yesterday

now to tough part - training my dogs to go through (okay, 2 trained, one - the firework dog - not yet).
given my history - y'all didn't think I was installing that first one when I said I was installing a doggie door?

I don't have much time in on the newer Toyota stuff but the old 18RCs and the like were tough as nails.

The guys have steered you right - have 'em check it whilst it's off. Buy a good gasket kit and go for it. Helicoils should be fine. We never pulled the manifolds when we did 'em but as I said, that was eons ago. Hell, Sonny, we had them things called carbenaders and....... (you know the deal from here)

I've never had to work on a camry (they must be good cars, eh?) but generally the head should check for being straight, usually not a problem if it hasn't overheated. In addition to the normal valve job stuff like guides, stem wear, etc.

I guess if you have aluminum heads you need to make it a habit to pull the plugs periodically....

I didn't get anything done at all today. Nice relaxing day at home with my wife.
