  • Looks like my 4th has been planned for me

Thanks to mother nature the wind and rain did a real good job of pruning the plum tree. Now have to chainsaw
the downed limbs and trim whats left of the misshapen tree.Just put on a new roof and was wanting to prep
HEMI MANOR for a new paint job,and paint the fence. Can't even mow the lawn cuz of all the tree debris I've
got piled up on it.Atleast my work shoes fit really good.

Chain sawing things is good work. Especially when cold beer awaits at the end of the job (or just the end of the sawing portion).

Please be careful Dave. I'm sure it's just me, but every time I turn a chainsaw off, I have the distinct feeling that I've cheated death and dismemberment one more time.

ran a running saw thru my leg once....if there is a god he was looking out for me that day...

I agree with Brian...any work that requires the use of a chain saw is good work...

I'll take exception to that... I've had to use a chain saw to fit a garage door in more than once; that is not fun work.

Cleaning limbs and stuff up, yeah that is good work.

Well - Mother nature took care of our Holiday weekend for us too - power went out Friday night, estimated time of power restoration?
              TUESDAY NIGHT.
Wonderful - thankfully we have lotso great friends - we borrowed one friends generator to keep the fridge and freezer going a tank a gas at a time.
Another friend has allowed us to take her house over for the weekend - working AC is a wonderful thing!

I worked the wee out of my jonsered 2172 (70cc 5.5HP 13.5lb) recently - turned a 20ft long 30" diameter trunk into a bunch of 16" long sections - then cross cut them into quarters - so my big nephew could haul them up the hill.... 45 stairs! Glad he was around - would have blown my knee up with all those stairs - God love the strength and endurance of youth!

ALWAYS SAVE THE BEER FOR AFTER THE CHAIN SAW HAS BEEN SHUT OFF FOR THE DAY!

It's too easy to screw up with a chainsaw sober.

Yep,I'm always aware of the chainsaw, always stand off to one side never inline with the bar and wear hearing and eye protection.
The second you get complacent that's when it'll bite you.I don't want to loose any appendages especialy my right hand, afterall
that's the one I pick my nose with(among other things).

Power finally came back on this morning - just in time to go back to work. One of those fancy auto back up natural gas fueled generators has never looked so good, may have to look into one of those - as it was we went through 5 gallons in a friends briggs powered 2700 watt portable to keep the fridge and freezer going, tank is way too small - only runs for about 3 hours.

Hope everyone had a fun and safe 4th - the fireworks around our place were unreal - I'm pretty sure you could see fireworks every night for a week straight just in the metro area.... nothing like explosions to put a smile on your face!
