  • Damn its hot out there!

I think I make this same post every year, I'm such a weather wimp especially when it comes to the heat.
I've been working in the yard all day and it seems like I'm outside for 20 minutes, inside for 20 minutes.
I'm thinking about wraping this up and having a beer! Screw this!

We got lucky today. There's some cloud cover where we are. Only a heat index of 101. Air temp 89. Like air conditioning compared to yesterday.

Nice. Everything's relative, I guess. Much better inside the house, though, for sure. I ain't going out there and "do" anything for all the tea in China. Nope. Forget that.

It's so hot, the squirrels are handling their nuts with potholders.

It seems to get really humid here. It might only hit upper 80's to 90, but the humidity can choke you.

It would probably seem like a nice vacation to someone from AZ or TX. Feels hot as hell to me though.

In my life I've never experienced the "dry heat" like in the Southwest. I have experienced the "dry cold" one morning on a bicycle trip in Nebraska. The bank sign said it was 30F, and puddles were frozen beside the pavement, so it had to be true. But it sure didn't feel like it outside, not that cold at all.

So I reckon humidity is the determining factor for how it feels, high or low temps.

kind of weird here...not as hot as usual. I am liking it. The evenings are pretty decent too....

I just sweat like a pig this time of year, and once my shirt get soaked it doesn't let anymore air in or out, and I just sweat more. Today was a three shirt day for me so far.

It hit 100 again today, for the 14th day straight. Then about 1 this afternoon, we got severe thunderstorms that dumped not only about 2" of rain but dumped the temp. down to 79 with a cool breeze.

Now I know why we've been having a cooler than normal summer here in Cali. We always seem to have the opposite weather as everyone else. I know the mid westerners need some cooler weather and a ton of rain.

It was supposed to have gotten up to 101 yesterday, but only made it to 100! I was in town today and the thermometer in the truck said 106 at about 11:00 this morning. No telling what it is now. This morning at 7:00 in was 80 with a heat index of 85. I see that some dark clouds are beginning to roll in. I hope they bring lots of rain. We ended the year with about an 8" rain deficit and since January we are 10" below for 2011.

It seems like I'm always the first to complain, but WTF? I'm going to drown in my own sweat today!

I hate snow more than heat, so no complaints here when it gets in the 90+ temps.

We've been lucky....hanging just under the 100 degree temp. nice and humid thou. heat index has been around 115 since friday. got down to 80 last night. luckly i get to work inside during the day, but the techs have been stuck in 96 degree temps with little to no airflow all week long. been tough trying to work on my own at night with no ac in the garage. windy today, so at least a little breeze to move the hot air around.
