I've liked Adam for quite a while, he's got an off-beat sense of humor. Hopefully it's not another car show for guys who can't tell a rocker arm from a bell housing. I'll give it a shot.
Dunno, last interview I saw asking Adam what his favorite ride was, he was all about older road race Datsuns. Um, ok. And John Salley, really? Guess they can't afford Tim Allen, I could see him giving a step by step demo of how to do a burnout in a Mustang. I see this as SPEED's answer to Top Gear USA, hopefully its not lame.
Corolla WAS supposed to be the head guy on TOP GEAR USA but there was conflict with Leno, NBC yadda yadda.
When I was working in the copper mines in AZ, the local paper had a story of how a new tv show with Corolla was being filmed in town and how they pushed a 924 porche off the local bridge and had it attched with bungee cords, the story went on to state that the new show was the usa version of TOP GEAR and was to air on NBC that fall - this was 3 years ago almost to the day when this all happened
I must be too old, I can't stand Adam or the format they've laid out on tv for it.
Give me a technical car show, not dorkey comments about cars........
There are very few people in this world who's opinion I value, you are not one of them.

Ah but those of us who can understand and appreciate a show like that are few and far between. Like Gary said, most shows arent for us, they are for the guy who likes cars but knows next to nothing about them. There are far more people out there who like but know nothing, than those of us who live in the automotive world and know how all of it works and why.
That is why I dont have cable, nor do I watch TV. Most shows are intellectually painful to view.
The problem with Top Gear USA is that it is forced and they are trying to copy something that no one can recreate. If The Car Show can be laid back and funny (something TG USA is not), then it's a success. I do agree however, that Adam can get plenty annoying. Much like Jeremy Clarkson. But at least the cast isn't fake polished wanna-be car guys. Don't get me started on Tanner Foust..

1966 Ford Thunderbird - SOLD | 1963 MGB, abandoned V8 project, FOR SALE/SCRAP
I don't like McTopGear for the same reason - copies are always inferior.... but why not have Dr. Drew on the show as well to point out the... ummm.. phallic potential of the cars?
I figure this show will simply be copy of the Dr. Drew show.... eventually, copies just get pathetic (which explains it being picked up by that powerhouse of sports broadcasting - Speed)
Adam Corolla makes a good sidekick, not sure he'd be a good host unless he has a good foil.... and I just don't see it in a basketball player and a waste of oxygen being good foils.
