the bus and bath tub grill is pretty darn clever.

imagine paying for that stainless as a grill material. wow.
ever seen a bus after a head on with a rig... it even takes on tractor trailers.

the rest is not so smart.

an exhaust clamp on some other metal tubing than exhuast pipe does not make it stupid does it?
hacks start off so simple.. who defines it is up to themself.

I thought about doing that to a bus, at 45 feet long for a 71 passenger Thomas, you still have room for a bedroom. I was working out a hydraulic dovetail when I found out it's damn near impossible to insure them here. Next plan? RV. 125.00 a year to insure one of those.

The bathtub cracked me up. When I was pulling down the trailer remnants and burning crap, I used the bathtub to keep the stuff contained because there was an open burn ban. You could still have barbeque's. The property mgmt. lady came by and went "WTF?"

Then she gave me an odd smile, patted me on the head, and said "Well, it is contained"

Nothing in here stands up to the shear determination of Bruab's south of the border cousin's BBQ spit drive.

The brick and board stairway is the only one that really made me say wow.

The mini- floor jack under the bed looks like a fantastic way to stub the hell out of your toe... that's where you should use a stack of bricks!
Heh, I don't have photos to show it, but I used a half a dozen concrete blocks for a bed frame once. I see bed frames at yard sales for practically nothing, but when I got a new sized bed I couldn't find any for cheap. I didn't mind spending $500 on a bed, but refused to spend $70 for the frame at the bed store or $40 at the thrift store...

        Love pics from thereifixedit.com!

I would have to agree here, the bus is freaking genius and people pay huge money for porcelain grills like the Big Green Egg or the cheaper Big Green Keg.

One of the baddest Ass Mopar (Sponsored) Stock Eliminator cars was hauled to and from the races in the back of a School bus in the early 70's until Mopar decided it was bad for their image and gave him a new Dodge Crewcab car Hauler.

I've seen some pics from China, where a dude was welding. He had an oval-shaped piece of cardboard for a shield, and sunglasses stuck through it.

i remember in the 70s and 80s seeing alot of old school buses converted to car haulers, I remember there was a popular 4x4 pulling truck of the early 80s whos hauler was a school bus and the guy lived in a portion of it while out on the road, one of the off road mags did a story on it

The farmers in eastern NC love old school buses, the use them to haul labor, they cut the tops off and use them for flat bed trucks mostly.
