  • More bucket-Ts than flys on ****

The 2011 Bucket Head Bash wrapped up a weeks worth of activities in Mountain Home, Arkansas. I crashed my own forum, but Spirit Industries told me their server is more than robust enough to handle the traffic.

For a couple of hundred videos and pictures feel free to visit Spirit's forum, I'll let you know when my forum has recovered.

14 year old trying her skill in the rodeo.

Good news, my forum is up again and the videos of about 100 Sunday school kids 5~12 years of age getting rides in the buckets are priceless. Most of the kids are a bit jaded, as this event has been going on for years. I only gave rides to 3 because I wanted to video the other folks giving rides. I placed myself at a point where the driver will have to get off the throttle so that the camera might be able to hear the screams from the kids. On one video, you can hear the little girl screaming over the thottle at the beginning of the short blast.

Looks like you guys had a blast there! Some cool looking rides too man. Seen some vids of previous bucket bashes, some of those guys sure aren't afraid to wail on those things. Very cool, thanks for sharing

Great pictures- how many cars showed up this year?

On a separate note, I love Mountain Home. I noticed in one picture, you guys were behind a Baxter Healthcare plant- they used to be a customer of a company I worked for. Been in that plant a couple of times.
Why think when you can be doing something fruitful?

I was taught full darkroom photography by my Dad in 1962. Today however, instead of using a Linhof 4X5 sheet film camera, I've gone "point and shoot" digital with a Sony. The Sony has IMHO, the best optical image stabilization with a 12X zoom in the industry. Important if you use long focal lenghts, hand held, while driving a stick shift bucket.

I never caught the offical count, but would guess at 75+. Your right on about Mountain Home, and it didn't hurt having the 3rd highest ranked law enforcement officer (heads the patrol division) as a fellow Bucket Head, leading each cruise. On one cruise we had police escort. Rick even hosted the gang at his large cabin-home outside of town. Pictures are his front yard.

Only about a 100 full throttle blasts in the Church parking lot with Sunday school kids riding along.

Nice pictures. I had the chance to meet Deck Officer while the buckets were in town last week. I spent about two hours hanging around and yacking it up. That Track-T of his is one really neat little car. It was a good time with lots of neat cars and nice people.

                          428FE,

I wondered when you were going to show up back on this forum. It was great talking to you, bet you wish you were here for all the kid's rides in the church parking lot and the rodeo. For me, that was one of the highlights of the week's activities.

It was a pleasure meeting you too. We are looking forward to next year already. I saw the pictures you posted on the Spirit Industries forum earlier today. I have to get back to your site and check the video. Wish we could have spent more time together. Maybe get you over to the house next year. Its that thing called a job that gets in the way Glad you had a safe trip and I do believe you are the winner as the long distance participant.

Great photo's guys. I've owned 2 T-buckets, back when 17 and 24 years old. But want one again now at 58 young years old. Thanks again!
