  • how much are on the phone?

Just trying to get an idea on what is normal....
I just spent 30minutes, starting at 11:00pm, Sandy went to bed and I don't even want to go in there...It happens all the time. I thought I made a post about this and expressed my anger, but must have hit the wrong button or something. I'm a little better now, but still....WTH? I spend the better part of my day on the phone, and I don't think I'm that very intrestint to talk to!

    Depends on the day!
Use to be all day with my sales job, customer one after the other, wife , another customer , on and on and on.
New job hauling fuel, I still spend time on the phone , wife 45 minutes a day at least with her, her brother, a cool guy, but depends on the day maybe an hour ragging on people, my buddy from deep in NC, sometimes an hour, and depends on the day my 24y/o son .sometimes 2 hrs talking about cars , women, bikes and such, he is a cool kid. But as always when on the phone its a hands free device and moving safely.

Lots of days, not at all. For me it's mostly automated Dr. appointment reminders! On average, probably 15 to 30 minutes unless my middle bro calls - he can chat for an hour but doesn't do that too often.

I refuse to be a slave to my phone, so I do not carry it with me at all times, I check it a few times a day to see if I missed a call or a text and if I happen to be next to it when it does ring I'll pick it up. Saying that depending on who is calling, I can be on the phone for a good hour or so, but that only happens a few times a month........

about 6 hours a day for the job. My cell (no land line) I use maybe 5 hours a month.

I used to send instant messages to the brat cuz she had headphones on and couldn't hear me yelling. It's pretty weak when you are sending IM's back and forth and you're 20 feet away from each other.

I'm on the phone at work several times a day - but not all day by any stretch - usually quick 5 minute - "this changed so I need this update from you" calls.

We have lots of call in meetings - which saves the hassle of driving to a meeting at another location.... most of the time that's just listening while doing other computer work - waiting for some one to ask a question of you specifically - which sometimes never happens.

I IM with my wife several times a day - and occasionally text or IM friends. I put a blaupunkt blue tooth stereo in the beater so I can talk hands free - but it's loud on the highway.
There's always something new to learn.

I like to see how many days i can go without talking on the phone. Never made it whole work week. which reminds me i have to call and make an eye appt.

Depends if I get on the phone with Chad or not. The conversation usually goes on and on until someone battery dies, or Daphne makes go eat dinner. I don't mind. We only talk once every couple of months.

Home landline: never if at all possible
Cell texting: if I'm awake I'm probably using it
Cell talking: only when I have to and only for certain people
Work: depends on the time of year...during the spring I could be on it most of the day, the rest of the year isn't too bad

That is why when I'm working I always leave the phone in the truck, cause it never fails that I'm 20' up in the air on a ladder and my phone starts ringing............

If I had my way about it, I'd outlaw the damn things. "LEAVE ME ALONE! I'M BUSY!" That's the answer I usually give to sales calls and someone I don't want to talk to. I didn't even have a phone until I got married, if you wanted to talk to me, you know where I live, if not, tough shit. I do have a cell because of medical problems in the family, but for the last 6 months, I haven't used over 10 minutes a month.

I have become that which I despise.

My job requires that I have my goddamed crack-berry surgically attached to my hand every waking minute of the day. Email, text, calls, calender/schedule updates....

I want a job that only uses US Mail for communication.

I text my wife twice during the day. I talk on my phone 2 or 3 times a week, I'm not normal.

Okay check this out, a little up-date. I was in Colombus this weekend, It was hotter than hell. Saturday after, we made our last pass for the day I wasn't in too much of a hurry to service the car, did I say it was hot? Anyway, some clouds rolled in and it cooled off a tiny bit, enough to where I was ready to finish up and call it a day. I'm back there minding my own business putting a clutch in when this strong wind came by and blew our neighbours canopy over and stuff started to fly everywhere. I ran over to help and pick stuff up and about 5 minutes later it started to rain, and I mean rain! Some say about 5 inches in about an hour in a half....Well, I just happened to have my phone in my pocket at the time, and needless to say, it's not working right now. I'm supposed to be looking for another one right now, but as you can see I'm not in that big of a hurry. I've had about 3 emails and 4 phone calls at home, as a matter of fact I was woken up this morning by my home phone ringing.
