Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't someone make a kit where you can get rid of most of the Opti-Spark (with the exception of the optic sensor) and install coil packs instead?

Sorry, but I'm not familiar with opti-spark. Is this something that goes wacky or?

                  Here's an article about it....

Really like the wagon, as is appearance-wise, could be a real sleeper.

theres a thread around here somewhere bout the opti-spark

I would go with a matte gold hockey stripe, but thats just me

                      you could run a distributor

It has an HEI style distributor, with Acell Super Coil on it. Just decoded the VIN and it was built in CA and does have a small CA inspection sticker on the lower corner of the windshield. I like this car.

Decided to hold of on any stripes for now, as can add them next year if I do want to.

Thanks for all the comments guys.

Isn't the opti-spark pretty reliable unless it gets wet, either because of it's location or leaking water pump or something?

Chad has done basically the same thing to Rusty. Got rid of the opti spark.

I'll admit I no real knowledge about the LT1 motors. This car was advertised as powered by an LT1, but I knew it had an edelbrock carb & intake. I saw the vavle covers with the bolts going through the center of them (not on the upper & lower lips) so figured it was modified. How can I tell what motor it is? Do they still use 3 numbers/letters on the passenger side of the block by the head?
