I am digging your style Groucho...I would not hesitate to drive the wee out of one or both of those.

I love the absence of 13" Daytons as well...they are a requirement for a low rider out here.

Whats interesting to me is they dont fit the normal low rider look that I have become so used to with the hispanic crowd out here, the 2 cars pictured would seem to me to fit into more of a Kustom catagory visualy that the low rider genre...thinking out loud here...thoughts?

Thanks on the orange 60! That was 4 yrs ago. I missed it. Also, yes, although it's more of a Kustom by today's thoughts....but that's because current Lowriders are quite a bit over the top and a bit oongapotch. I hate 13" daytons too. I'll post a couple of mine from the early 70's in a second

Groucho, I like the paint scheme ideas you got. I've always liked gold with candy, pearl, or flake. I'm not sure what to do about the wheels. I'd like to see old school chrome reverses with wide whites now and again. In the end, it's your car; do whatever floats that boat.

Larry Dixon Jr gave me that. Him, his Dad and I were really good friends before they moved back East (Indy) from SoCal. We're still friends, but we sure don't hang out like we used to. Jr and I used to do a lot of racing and night clubbing together. His Dad (who raced fuel also) built a 55 Chevy in their garage and I watched him paint each panel on saw horses in the garage. Beautiful car. It had an alcohol blown big block that he drove everywhere on the street and ran bottom 9's with the column shifter. When he was sorting the car out, he'd run a carb without the blower on the blower intake bolted to a plexiglass cover he made to go on temporarily in place of the blower

Aircraft hydraulics were adapted to cars some time in the 60's and was huge for us in the early 70's. We used to get our stuff back then from surplus stores. Now it's all being made from scratch for the Lowrider guys. If you ever heard a Pesco or Adel pump lift a car, it's way cooler sounding than air
