I could(and Have) listened to the first album and Diver Down back to back for hours.
Between those 2 albums EVH's Magic is still just amazing,forget the lyrics some time,just listen to the music,AVH drum work really picked up too.

1984 is still one of the best albums out there. Love that album.

I always liked Top Jimmy, but most of the songs on that album where a home run.

Kind of like Appetite for Destruction by Guns N Roses. The whole thing was awesome and still stands up today. Even more so than 1984, actually.

Seems like almost everyone here leans toward the early years with DLR.

I did also really enjoy some of the Sammy stuff like Right Now.

VAN HALEN!! My all time favorite band...and I don't mean Van Hagar.

I thought I would bring this thread back since Van Halen's new album is going on sale this coming Tuesday. My favorite song is Mean Street for the dark sound and Eddie's guitar work. I've heard all of the tracks on the new album (A Different Kind of Truth) and am VERY excited to get my copy. I was expecting it to be mediocre, but have been blown away by how good it is. Look it up on Youtube. I think you'll be impressed.
