Went to a small show across from The University of Notre Dame @ Eddy Street Commons. The Commons is a small retail/condo area where The Hammes Book Store is located. Ever hear of The Romy Hammes Ford Thunderbolt? Same family, and they sponsor this show. It is a small turnout but I took some pix of the more unique vehicles.

Great pictures, I love shows like that. The Studebaker truck looks like Ted Harbit's Hauler only I think his is Red. I remember Dick Brannon, he was the Driver for the Romy Hammes Drag cars. I picked up on the tow bar brackets on the front of the Thunderbolt, I remember that car and I'm betting they don't flat tow it anymore, it probably rides in an enclosed truck or trailer with a security system!sigpic
Just an Old Drag Racer that still has dreams of going fast!

Right you are Grumpy! The official letter to Brannan from Ford was on display and it was neat to see they sold the car to him for $1.00 for use in "drag racing" only. "Drag racing" was quoted thru out the letter and it specificly stated no street use! Imagine that today. Legal would probably have a phone book size book of BS.Last edited by ChampTrucking; August 7, 2011, 01:36 PM.
