Oh man, on one hand I am sad for this ol' boys misfortune but at the same time it kinda makes me laugh thinking this dude fell in on one side and got spit out one the other in a perfect little square wrapped in twine..

Stay informed. Get the latest Modesto, Stockton and Sacramento news and weather from the KCRA news team.

MODESTO, Calif. -- A man is in “severe” condition after he was injured early Tuesday by a hay machine that mistook him for a bale of hay at a processing plant near Turlock, the Merced Sheriff’s Department said.

The industrial accident occurred in Delhi when a 43-year-old man working there activated the hay compressor as he crossed in front of the electric sensor, deputies said. The machine mistook him for a hay bale, pinching his stomach and back.

Initial investigation reports indicate that a safety feature was not activated, deputies said.

The man’s condition was listed as “severe” after he was flown to a Modesto hospital.

The plant is located on the 14000 block of Harding Avenue in Delhi.

Farm accidents were common years ago, I knew people who lost both arms, legs, and died getting caught in a PTO. The thought of going through a baler does not make me laugh, you have to respect machinery because it does not care and it is incapable of mercy.

It's really no different than trying to glue them back on after she has her way.
