  • Guess who I ran into at Hot August Nights, Reno ?

Shot up to Reno today on a whim to catch the end of Hot August Nights, and who do I run into, also there on a whim? Why it is the Krazy Kiwi, Gordon Tronson, builder of Double Trouble. This guy can show up at a 5 star event un-announced, and the welcome mat is always laid out for him. This time a major vendor gave him space and even put DT to bed at night inside his tent so Gordon could party the night away without concern for his 1,000 hp Margarita blender.

You just might, Gordon owns a race team, and for pleasing the crowd, he uses DT to haul his car to and from the pits to the track.

You sure do get around there DO. That blender addition is insanity at its finest.

A couple of short revs in neutral, and it is Jimmy Buffet Time. And yes, I'm an unrepentant gearhead that hangs around other like minded souls, so I guess I do get around even if it means crossing the water with them back in Arkansas.

That's a neat car, thanks for the pics

I guess if you're gonna put two motors side by side, you ought to use the widest ones you can find

Now here is a guy that knows his motors. Damn those Ford Mod motors are broad shouldered. Plus our paths have probably crossed. Last November I was in Sierra Vista for Fred's Fun Run. I won the longest distance travelled in the T award, a nice cash prize. This was over in Tombstone, Arizona where some of the locals still mine the ore.

And to show how we all get along, a blown Chevy, next to a blown Ford, next to a blown Mopar 440
