  • The great BangShift Wrecker Recovery Mission Was a Success!

Ok...soo we're about a week away from my wife and I heading due west to meet and pick up Brutus, the newest big dumb truck in the Eastern BangShift battle fleet.

My in-laws are going to watch the kiddos for two days as we crawl back from NY. The ride is about 480 miles. We are going to head out on Friday morning, and get the truck Friday afternoon. We are going to stay the night in the area where the truck is at (about 60 miles south of Buffalo...forgetting the name of the town) If any area BS dudes/dudettes in the area that want to hang out on Friday or join in a slo-rolling convoy on Saturday, the more the merrier!

We're taking the Pacifica because my wife hates driving my pickup. I am going to load two of Goliath's big meats in the truckster and we'll swap them on out in NY for light speed top end power. I think with the big tires it should do Goliath's highway speed of 60mph or thereabouts.

My wife wants to spend a romantic night in Saratoga Springs so that's the plan for Saturday evening and then the final lug home on Sunday morning.

Let's bench race this long trip. Whaddaya think I should bring for spares? Tools? Fluids? etc?

Oh yeah, Chad found this zooty GPS tracker deal that I'll have on the whole time to track our exact location during the trip!

Obvious stuff is sometimes the stuff you forget so: I'll go with:
    1)Warm sweater/coveralls
2)Line clamp pliers for fixing leaks
    3)Radiator Rat Turd (Stop Leak)
    4)Mechanic's Wire
5)A list of friend's phone numbers!

Lacking an adventuresome spirit, I vote for a car trailer and something to tow it with.

Good luck, Brian. We're all pullin' for you (as Red Green would say).

Im in for the convoy. Not sure where I would meet up with you probably somewhere along the thruway. Id pack one of those cheapo universal fuel pumps. Different size hose and clamps. 5 gallons of water. A set of points or maybe another distributor.
