Sometimes the best decisions are those that are hardest to make, we've all been frustrated by "that guy" that wouldn't sell a project while it returned to the earth in his backyard.... you're a better man for not being "that guy".There's always something new to learn.Comment

i parted with a project a few years ago, i had invested a decent amount of money in parts, and some time, i took a loss, but i couldnt stand to look at it untouched for 2 years, it just needed so much work. for me to complete it, it would be taking time away from other more important things in life, and being a drag car project, i wasnt going to use it much after being completed being i havent been down the strip in 5 years in my other car that aside from putting the interior back in, is get in it and go.
at least you arent going to lose thousands.Comment

If there's a class at someone's local track to put that thing back on dirt or asphalt oval - that would be the shiznit - trying to put that thing back on the street would be a monumental undertaking, a drag car would be my next choice - as long as the driver is svelt enough to do the Bo and Luke Duke thing through the window. There's always something new to learn.Comment

That cage may pass tech at a circle track for an enduro type deal, but it won't be any good at a drag strip.

Did someone say monumental task? Doors welded shut is a problem? Not for me I have a sawzall and a welder! Heck I think its too nice to beat up on a circle track, might make a fun AutoX toy... You might be surprised what I would put on the street.
Alas, I have too many projects as it is, despite really liking that vintage Javelin/AMX. The price is right for me too, dirt cheap is always a plus. Too bad there are so many in line ahead of it, if not I would jump on it and build something interesting with it.Comment

It isn't that the doors are welded shut, the only "doors" that exist are the outer skins. There is a stock cart style cage in it that kicks out into where the rest of the doors would be.
Great racer project. That which you manifest is before you.Comment
