I don't remember some/most of certain parts of the 60's - 70's - 80's (single days partyin') and now I'm getting older and either don't want to remember or forget Arild.Phil / Omaha -
That movie should be watched annually at least - just to remember how great it really was - and how monumentally fun it is to watch piles and piles of old cop cars smash into eachother.
I hope someone saved the big blocks and 727s from at least some of those mopar cop cars.
Rumor has it the movie company went to every police auction in the chicagoland area and bought everything they had leading up to the filming of the movie. The single story shopping mall was not all that far from my house - and was due to be torn down anyway before they shot the scene that got the demo off to a good start - some kids from my high school were extras. There's always something new to learn.Comment

okay, I'm a broken record but we need to get this car to Blazerteam... wonder how much it costs to ship it to the area north of the great white north? (or would that be south of the great white north?)Doing it all wrong since 1966Comment

If it is on the "free to good home" train, then consider me the conductor. Shoot, it doesn't even have to get here anytime soon. Although, it would have to be Redballed all the way back to Bakersfield, CA. Always wanted to build a street legal race car. Probably wouldn't even paint it. You could keep the engine if it would help you to recoup the investment.
Does it have the VIN stamped on it still?Bakersfield, CA.Comment

The VIN stamps are gonzo.
I have a guy locally who is a friend of a friend coming to check it out tomorrow. If he is not interested, maybe this can be plan BThat which you manifest is before you.Comment

Well, how did it go? Are you Javelin-less?
I looked at your build thread and there is a picture of a Vin plate riveted to the car. Is that still there?Bakersfield, CA.Comment

SAY WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!!
Pulling the 'chute on that thing? Can't really say it's a surprise, seemed like ya lost steam once discovering the 'cage in that thing is glorified plumber's pipe.
I was really hoping to see that thing move under it's own power, as all of us involved in moving that welded-rear tub did.
Then again, I can understand getting out before getting in TOO deep(rebuilt engine, needed a trans, wiring...plus a new'cage)...and those trucks can be enjoyed by more than ONE occupant. Knew there HAD to be a reason DF let that thing go for magic beans...LOL
I still say the "fuel cell" in that thing is one of the funniest damned contraptions I've ever seen in my life(albeit unsafe as hell).
Was worth laying in the cold-ass snow just to have some fun with friends and fellow Bangshifters(carjunkies, junkyarders, and anything else we've called ourselves along the way).....seeing that tub sitting in Phil's trailer was just a riot.
Good luck to whomever it ends up with...hope they get it moving(Too damned heavy to be pushing around).
