Brian, I was thinking about this, and all I can say is that it's probably harder on you, than it is on the kiddo. Hang in there, get him back in the saddle asap, be careful, and have funMy fabulous web page

Sorry to hear about it ... Squirrel is right, but it sounds like he's already on top of it being mad for getting cut when not doing anything wrong. Trusty wife will cool down I hope - you can cut yourself on any car. That doesn't make it the a/c... I smashed my fingers in the doors of every car we owned until I was like 7. Mom slammed the door shut on them more than once. If they got it clean, it will hurt but no where near as bad as if it's infected.
You know Goliath has got to be upset and secretly a little smug right now. I can hear the car talk now... "Way to go FNG. Nice. Real Nice."Flying south, with a flock of bird dogs.Comment

Thanks fellas.
He slept all night and woke up excited to go to pre-school and see his pals, so it seems that all is well. I was worried that he would be hurting really bad and wouldn't be able to go to his first day of school. He was happy as a clam when I talked to him this morning, which was music to my ears.
Seems Jim was right. He appears to be pretty much over it and knowing that, I can be too.

Great news on the Monday recovery Brian. Lee is fighting an ear infection and had a reaction to the antibiotics - it certainly tears you up to see your kids in pain. Hope he has a great day at school bragging about his old mans fleet of giant tonka toys! I hope Keri will learn to love the big guy anyway. There's always something new to learn.Comment

With two boys ages 11 and 13 I can tell you this won't be the last time he'll get hurt. My youngest has had staples in his head 3 different times, got whiplash because he was on a trampoline and his friend put him in a headlock and tried to bounce flip him(playing WWF), multiple skateboarding dumps resulting in bruised butts, smashed hands, twisted ankles, etc..........
Oh ya, the fun has just begun..........
Glad the little kiddo is going to be ok!!!!!Last edited by TC; September 12, 2011, 08:27 AM.Comment

You'll hurt far longer than he will. Getting hurt is part of growing up, in fact, I think that kids whose parents don't ever allow them to do anything that may hurt them will have kids who grow up unable to cope with life's problems.Doing it all wrong since 1966Comment

Brian,
I'm wondering if you should just back out of the whole stump-pulling plan. I kind of get the feeling you just don't have much experience with that kind of stuff, and with your run of bad luck, I'd probably feel guilty about egging you on if you end up hurting yourself or someone else. I'm just not sure that I trust you'll take sensible precautions to do this safely. I'm gonna let you just say uncle on this one if you want to, and you won't get another peep outa me (at least on this board) on the stump pulling escapade. Consider it an opportunity to bow out gracefully. You can enjoy Brutus in many other manly ways, like hoisting a motor out of your basement, or dragging wrecked cars around. It is a great truck. What do you say?

Steve, all the safety precautions will be in place. No one will be in harms way and I'll be extra cautious. Got no interest in busting my truck or myself.
It is still on. I'll even wear my safety officer/hall monitor arm band.
