As I stated in another thread, my step-dad is a stickler when it comes to stock (or mostly stock) parts. In the quest to finish the restoration someone started on the 67 GTO he currently owns, he's looking for an OEM breakerless ignition system. I've never seen one before, and I have been unsuccessful in finding one. Do any of you guys have one that you'd be willing to sell, or know of where I could locate one?? Any help you could give me on this would be much appreciated!
Looking for a part for my step-dad...

Good luck trying to find an unitized distributor that will work.
After taking a quick look on Ebay; I'm amazed what people ask for a points distributor because it has a number stamped on it's side that was used for a GTO and a date code. If someone pays up the asking price of $449.00 for a USED points distributor because of a number stamped on it; they really deserve to be taken to the cleaners.
Shannon, I'd get ready for some serious sticker shock when you find an unitized dist.BS'er formally known as Rebeldryver

Thanks for the info. I'm looking for its predecessor, the transistorized ignition system. And Scott, I bet the sticker shock will be even more on than I care to think about. And I'll need the whole kit and kaboodle: the distributor, coil, wiring harness, and whatever else consists of this system. If it was me, I'd slap a Petronix unit in the points distributor and be done with it...but it's his car and he knows what he wants. The man is giving me a truck, so if I can find this for him, it's the least I can do.Formerly Shannon (aka: HillbillySailor). 2549 posts.Comment
